An opportunity to keep you informed of where I have been, where I am and where I am planning to be.
Plans
No definitive plans yet – not sure when we will be able to travel anywhere.
We have hopes of spending a week in Champagne; maybe spend a few months in Singapore. Italy is beckoning but who knows if we can make it this year.
We will spend Christmas in Belgium as we have missed the past three years – not sure where we will go for New Year.
Current
I am in Brussels, do not know for how long …
2021
We started the year in Brussels where we are now living. This is the first time since 2004 that I am spending New Year in the country where I am currently living.
I retired on 1 April.
No traveling allowed except in Belgium. We discover my home country in day trips just to get out of town.
2020
2020 was not your regular year!
We started the year in Porto Rico and in January had a great trip to the Florida Keys and to The Everglades NP. What a revelation for me.
We had another Mardi Gras parade in Baton Rouge with friends (dressed as bottles) and then spent the week-end in New Orleans – it was my first chance to see those famous parades.
After that, COVID19 came and all activities stopped. We took advantage of a lull to go to Big Bend NP.
Our plans for Belgium, Toronto, Mexico City, Montreal, Colorado, Guatemala and several more were all scuttled.
In September we moved back to Brussels where we had a similar situation. No place to go other than Belgium.
We did spend Christmas in Cassis with my Dad.
